First Sgt. Bursten says, "People that really don't have an interested in Interstate 69 have been recruited to come here and be involved in a protest because they lack direction in their lives as to what they can do constructively. There are constructive ways to protest. This is not one of them."

The articles also quote the alleged vandals... quotes that seem like a pretty legit "stance" on the issue. What the heck kind of evidence does this Bursten have that leads him to believe they were recruited?

He's trying to downplay the significance of the event so people will disreagard it as "20 something hoodlums w/ nothing better to do"

all the news releases are propaganda. i heard "violence" mentioned 3 times in 1 minute on t.v. and no protesters were quoted at all, just cops.

the real issue is, why were 24 kids arrested for the actions of 2?

besides that, vandalizing is a great way to get a message out there, considering the fact that most people don't have billion dollar advertising budgets, but the trick is to do it and not get arrested
