I like this a lot - despite my limited familiarity with Firefly, I can really get a good sense of Mal's character from your narrative, and a lot of the turns of phrase you use are really in keeping with how the series is written, too.

Actually, I think this piece illustrates rather well what I like about your writing: you're really good at matching your writing style and the voice of the piece to fit the fandom and the characters; really versatile :)

I'm glad it seemed in keeping with the style. I was a little worried. Its gotten stuck in my head, though, and I definatly managed some spectacularly poor gramtical mistakes today because, well, Mal would say it that way.

Oh thank you. I means alot when you say that. I try hard, but worry about making it reflect the characters and not just cardboard cut outs with their names. Thanks.
