THE DECEMBERISTS ARE PLAYING TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW IN BOSTON IN NOVEMBER!  it is at my least favorite venue (the orpheum) BUT IT IS TWO NIGHTS!  the first night is going to be comprised of all their longer, epic songs, and the second night is the shorter, poppier stuff.  CANNOT WAIT.

i am toying with the idea of going to new york to see them as well,

i think that decemberist tour is genius. i love that idea! too bad it isn't coming my way :(

Hopefully they keep light on the Tain Wife. I ran across a girl on myspace the other day with The Perfect Crime as her page song. I asked her if it was really her favorite Decemberists song but she never answered.

Anyway, it sounds like a hell of a lot of fun. You'll have to let us know if it seems any different with the new drummer. My friend saw them in NY a couple years ago & posted about a thousand pics. It looked like they put a little extra into their NY shows so seeing them there is probably a good idea.
