you speak of the deminishing quality of the company.

i've worked at timmies and it seems every few weeks there are new rules, and new goals, new ways of doing something. "we now have to charge for this" "we now have to clean that 3 times a day instead of once a week" no real explanations, just simply "thats what is now required" or even using the customers as an excuse.

but its all the time. and i've worked there over a year and a half, and looking back, it was easier. and that was only a year and a bit. there are ladies that have worked there since 1990. and i wonder HOW the hell they do it!!! with quality of the cups/lids/bags going down and the number of new things we are required to do goin up. HOW do they stand it?

i asked one once, and she said "i never go to meetings. they tell us to do stuff, and we tell them to do stuff. no one does anything and nothing changes"

does that happen with you too? or is it just me... and i reeeeeeeally need a new job.

So I was searching for Nucomm (4 yr veteran myself!) related blogs and came across yours. Very true my friend - all you say about the 'culture' of NuThought... I couldn't help but laugh about the sad irony of it all... I am in Qwest however, sales, and I could not bring myself to wear a silly hat or even do the incentive based on The Amazing Race - I just can't get excited about the attempts at humour. Bah! Even if there was a big cash prize at the end for the winner... who is always the same person!! But I digress....

I am surviving by reading Wikipedia (approved site!) between calls and faking, just as you said, enthusiasm on my calls. BUT at the end of the day, you have to hit LOGOUT and leave it all at your desk until tomorrow... How else do you get to 4 yrs!?!?!

Anyways hang in there... and as Red Green would say "we're all in this together" :)

I agree with what you have been writing about. NuComm is a disgusting place that pits you against your peers and friends, harbouring feelings of fear and resentment. Management accountable? Haa!!! BULLSHIT!. My liberation day is Monday and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for having the guts to write everything down.
