should schools be allowed to block certain internet content?

if they do, do you feel it violates the rights and privacy of the students?

it kinda depends, if its high school, like at biloxi, then yes i think they should continue to block certain content. however at college, i think it depends on what kind of content and where they do it. is it in the rooms or in public access computers? if it is in the rooms, i think maybe some content, but not everything. but if its public access comps, there are certain things i think should be blocked such as the things they block at the high school, but maybe not all of it, such as some violent things could be allowed on public comps, but stuff such as pornographic images should probably be blocked on public comps. but for some of the stuff for the rooms, i think they could try to use some user discretion (i think i spelled that right)

as to the second part of the question, violating rights, maybe, but depending on how they block the content determines if it is violating privacy or not.

FUCK NO THEY SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO DICTATE WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT SEE. THIS SCHOOL IS BULLSHIT AND I THINK IT INVADES ON OUR RIGHTS AS STUDENTS AS WELL AS ADULTS AND TAXPAYERS.
