Heh, I actually think LeBron is quite handsome though I know close to nothing about him. It was cool seeing the camera pan over Kobe as he took pix with Russian athletes and asked afterward, "How do you say 'thank you'? I don't like KB, but it was nice to see a softer side to him. I think it sucks that the swimmers had to skip the ceremony to rest before their heats at the start of the next day!

Apparently, so do I, hahahahaha. The thing is that I've seen him a lot and love him for being all, "I'm gonna wear this Yankees hat no matter what you bastids say," but this is the first time that I've ever gone "Heeeeeeeeeeey [winkwink]" in his direction.
And, yeah, love the other athletes being all fanboys when it came to our basketball players. Apparently, the Chinese also love us. Sweet.
I cracked up when they kept the camera on Rafa since his face went from "Yaaaaaaaaay!" to "Er? Hm." and the camera still stayed on him. Maybe he sensed the world staring.
The dude pictured above was Gambia's flag bearer, so I guess we should thank both countries for making sure at least one hot men on each team got enough camera time.
The best bit of the opening ceremony was the drumming show at the beginning. Holy crap that was awesome. I agree 100% with your first paragraph, you just knew the ceremony was gonna be spectacular.
I mostly ignored the teams entering the arena. That seemed to go on for days, haha.
Also, yay for LeBron! =D Welcome home, son! ;P Hehehe.
I saw this morning that LeBron came back to his one and only home, so to you Brits I say only this: neener neener neener. :P
I went from "Yay, teams!" to "OK, let's move it along now - heeeeey, it's Puerto Rico!" to "WherestheUnitedStatesWherestheUnitedStatesWherestheUnitedStates?!" I think it actually did go on for days.
Yup, I have to agree that LeBron James did quite good! Some of the outfits weren't as bad and I can't blame Ralph Lauren too much. I mean seriously, look at Hungary. Yea, I didn't care much for the swimmers, I felt the girls were more eye candy than anything.
I had very little idea who was who outside of the basketball team so I was like, "Hey, it's Jason Kidd! Kobe! Some . . . blonde woman. Random brown-haired tall dude. Er. Hey, it's Dwyane Wade!" The whole swimming team could actually swim in front of me right now and I still wouldn't know who they are - well, except Phelps but that's because he's all over Yahoo.
