I read an article last week about 'on the road' being re-released for the 50th anniversary in unedited form next year- i usually read it once a year but this summer i'm not going to, so when I get the new copy it'll seem new and fresh. neal cassady is great but I relate more to Kerouac- depressed drunk french canadian mommy issues etc etc etc...
you should also check out "Vision's of Cody" which is the unabridged 'on the road' and is even more stream o' consciousness and has transcripts of tapes made and all that- it's real good.
thanks tanner. that's a really good interview with alan moore. seems like a pretty smart guy. i might buy those comics, since i'm also a major wizard of oz fan, and i'm interested to see how he portrays their sexual escapades. i'll probably read 'valis' one of these days too. sounds interesting. maybe i'll write about myself as a fictional character while i'm at it!
