home items on the radio

a coupla wednesdays ago, two sevenths of Home Items (Emily and me), plus special guest Heather on percussion, performed live on WCBN. we played three Home Items songs: "Pie for Breakfast", "Coffee Rap", and "Imaginary Friend". Here is our performance of Pie for Breakfast, filmed by Ben; Emily plays guitar and sings and I play tongs and sing.

Ironically before I watched this I had a piece of my Grandma's Strawberry Rhubarb pie.

that version is nice and mellow.
kinda like a sunny sunday morning when youve had too much pie for breakfast and you have to go back to your house and take a nap on the couch while watching golf on the television.....

yeah, it is sort of a lullaby version. probably 'cause i was nervous and generally feel like i can't sing, especially that song. thank the lord i convinced emily not to sing harmony or it would not have been pretty (and i'm not talkin bout emily's mellifluous voice). instead, it was ultra-fun.
