This was truly wonderful. Goodness, I laughed so much. The little details about each character and the goofy changes made to the story and preening Jun and crooning Sho and Shibata Rie ohgod... priceless. This was really light and fun to read. Thanks for sharing it!

Also, PSA, I feel like more people need to read the original story. It's awful and heartbreaking and grotesque, but really beautiful at the same time. Also, unfailingly moralistic, because that's Hans Christian Andersen for you.

Do tell me what you think when you're done. Part of me hates it because it's all "women don't need words or intellect to be loved; they just have to be pretty and get a guy to marry them!" but part of me loves it because it's so tragic and hopeful at the same time.

wow. i have to agree with you that i'm not too fond of the "just be pretty and he'll fall for you" feeling going on, but the sad part is that it's actually mostly true. especially for the older times. i love how that was written though, so yeah. i'm just in awe at the moment. such a bittersweet ending.

Because it's so true. And you know I think this is the first time MatsuJun has stolen a fic out from Nino and Ohno (my two favorite) for me.

Disney is awesome and I take great pleasure in spoiling disney movies for people for life. I completely ruined "A Whole New World" for my friend and can't stop giggling at the song "Gaston". But the Ohmiya totally adds to the awesome factor of this fic. (Not at all!)

in the beginning, i was going to make them all merman/human so i wouldn't have to figure out who played who. but then i was like "but sho singing 'kiss the girl' in a dirty way... ;_;". i apologize for the lack of sho trauma. orz
