No Sectus for me :( There are 4 HP conferences this year (insane, I know!) and I can't go to any of them. I'm saving my money for Terminus 2008 next year, in Chicago, which is only 150 miles from where I live so I can take a bus there instead of a plane. When you go to Sectus, look for malachan - he's a nice bloke from London who I met at The Witching Hour in Salem, Massachusetts, in October 2005.
no :( i would really love to but I ccome back from debate camp on July 21 (I'm going to have to run to get the book). My parents would definatly not let me.

Hi there,
I just wanted to make sure you were aware of point 13 of the Sectus terms and conditions which have to be agreed to in order to register:
13. No member of the press shall be admitted to the event.
We do reserve the right to ask any members of the press to leave and will do so if anyone alerts us to the presence of any reporters. Just thought I should make sure this was clear before we run into any trouble at the conference itself. Harry Potter fans, who also happen to work for the press, are of course welcome to attend in a personal capacity, so if that's your case, no worries (in fact we already have two BBC employees registered as fans and both have assured me of their fandom status).
If you need to speak with me about this, please feel free to e-mail bookings@sectus.org or respond to this comment.

Hi Anne,
Yes, I was aware of that point. I was unclear in my meaning, what I meant to say is that I'll be in London as Press anyway for Celebration Europe, but I'll also be attending Sectus as a fan, most likely.
Does this mean that you aren't interested in any coverage whatsoever, though?

It's more a question of having been stung in the past and being weary of making the same mistake twice. If you are a genuine fan then it's quite possible that we'd be open to talks. You'd have to see Elanor (chair@sectus.org) about that, though, as it's nothing to do with me :).
Thanks for getting back to me though -- I just wanted to make sure we all knew what was what!
