I was talking about this with Mum recently and the thing we decided makes Sydney so cold in Winter is the humidity. As it is dry, dry, dry here in Winter it doesn't always seem so bad. But then again when it is -20 or less it is a bit nippy and I am always glad for our well insulated, central heated house.
I'm off to put on sunscreen to go to the wading pool in the park!

Interestingly, Canada is not the coldest place I've been! I think the coldest place was the Grand Canyon in January (but probably only if you take windchill into account). OMG, it was cold! And I lost one of the lovely gloves I bought in Toronto - although luckily, I still had the camera hand one, so I could just keep my left hand in my pocket.
Also interestingly, the morning Dave drove Craig and I to the airport in Toronto, the guy on the radio said it was 6ºC - so comparing an unseasonably warm Toronto winter with the coldest Sydney has to offer results in some overlap!
Glad the weather is nice for you.
