OK hit me: where's good to go in Europe? Craig and I are planning a trip for later this year.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Hmm, interesting suggestions.

London is a definite, that's where we'll be flying into, and also I'm sure I will have to bring over some Twisties for my aunty ( ... )

Hey, I had forgotten about your extensive travels! (A bit ironic given that I first found your journal when you were posting long series of "non dialup friendly" photos of London!)

Hmm I think Spain is on the list, and Prague is also a possibility. I'm not sure about Finland (we may be going to Norway to check out the fjords; it probably shows the depth of my ignorance that I'm thinking "Scandinavia - tick!"). What did you like about Finland? What about Stockholm?

I've been thinking about Poland a bit, but possibly going to Krakow rather than Warsaw - I've been wondering about visiting Auschwitz, and trying to work out if it's a dreadful thing to want to see or not!

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions!

Barcelona is a great place for Gaudi's architecture - the Sagrada Familia as suggested but also there's a fabulous park - Parc Guell. The modern architecture resulting from the Olympics is pretty awesome too.

I would also have to say Paris for the art galleries (Rodin Museum and Musee d'Orsay were my favourites) and soaking up the atmosphere with a nice glass of wine. Check out Moroccan food if you are there.

Venice is amazing because it hasn't changed much in 500 years. Amsterdam was great for the Anne Frank museum and the tulips but you've missed the tulips this year.

One other place I really enjoyed was travelling by train around Belgium - it's really easy. I wanted to see Ypres (Eiper) and Flanders fields. Very moving and I would recommend it if you are interested in the history.

I travelled to lots of other places and would be happy to share (or bore you with) the details.
