Showtime offered, but the creator declined due to budget and creative pressure.

i guessed the budget thing might be an issue, but "creative pressure?" fox is the king of censorship and douchbaggery, so i assumed that would be a plus of leaving. and the show seems like it has a pretty modest budget. hmm.

Yeah, from what I've read Showtime wasn't going to give it as much as it was spending on fox. And the creative pressure was basically he didn't think he could keep up the quality programming that was expected of him by fans.
