oh yes I do enjoy the book :) I love Barbie's history a lot, I think it may be an example of great marketing strategy - but those are "the words from my mind", and I feel great affection for the doll, whatever psychologists think her to be :)
The expression "metrosexual" is quite new here... I love men who care for how they look and smell etc, because it's pleasant when a person is neat and tidy (if he's interesting to talk to and to be with, of course :))...
it's a pity but here many older people still don't see the difference between "having a lot of style and being very neat" (I'm talking about men) and being a gay, but that's only because of our complicated history - in USSR there was only "one style" and everything which was different made many people not very pleased. But now things are getting better with that, the younger generation changes the image of "casual style" and fashion in my country a lot :)
Yes, I can imagine how interesting "doll fashion evolution" is! Unfortunately here's scarce choice of Mattel dolls and as I guess they come here with a great delay. Here we have a fashion doll Tanya which's almost the same as Barbie with a different head (here's her pic) and her dresses and costumes are quite modest, in general.
