1. What is your favorite food to eat prepared by someone else (parent, spouse, friend, etc.)?My Mom's Peking Duck! Since I was a little kid she's been making this for special occasions. She marinates the duck, then hangs it up in front of a fan (to dry it out & make the skin crispy). Then it goes into the oven to roast. She also makes the "Mandarin ( Read more... )

What's hoy sin sauce taste like? :o Is it anything like soy sauce? :)

1. My mom's potato salad! :) It's a family secret how to make it, but I help sometimes. :)

2. I think it averages like... 5 meals every two days for me.

3. Wellll... I microwave most of my food although since we go a new oven recently I'll probably be using that too. I just forget we have it now lol. It was broken for so long.

4. Cheeseburgers. :)

5. Go to Tudor's. :P We used to have real breakfast often, but rarely these days.

Hoy sin sauce is hmm... maybe kinda like a Chinese bbq sauce? It's thicker than soy sauce.

Mmmm potato salad! Do you think your mom will let you in on the secret?

Now I want Tudors :)

Oh, I know how to make it. :) I'm the only one besides my mom that knows. :D

Is it spicy bbq or sweet bbq? :o

edit: Also, you can get eggs, bacon and hashbrowns on a biscuit or toast at Tudor's. :)

Oh good! Guard the secret well :)

It's more like a sweet bbq, not very spicy at all.

Nom!

Lucky you to have a mom who will do this regularly. I love Peking Duck in the little pancakes. That would be a great thing to learn to make. I have done a sort-of version of the duck, but I cheat and use wheat tortillas.

Mmm, that sounds good too. I have yet to try making the dish myself yet, although I do have the recipe from Mom.

I'm shocked at you sometimes eating twice a day! Are your meals usually calorific? I used to eat three times a day but lately it's been four. :o It's interesting to read others' eating habits!

Hehe! Well, what usually happens on the weekends is I'll eat breakfast and then get involved in some activity, and then before I know it, it's almost time for dinner LOL. But I do tend to eat tons of food at breakfast, too. Is your fourth meal a snack or is it another meal? (Like second breakfast for hobbits? Teehee)

Definitely a snack! I could probably eat a meal but by then it's usually 9 pm or later and I don't want to stay up to make food. -_- What type of breakfast do you typically eat? I love reading about food, lol.

Well, if I'm at home... I *love* eggs so I'll usually make some kind of eggs (scrambled, fried, baked, etc.) and if I have time I'll make bacon, which I also love. And then I'll usually have some kind of fruit, or if I have time I'll fry plantains in coconut oil. And coffee... lots of it :)

However, a lot of mornings I go to the gym and then eat something in the car on my drive to work. Usually I'll have either boiled eggs, a can of tuna or salmon, or some kind of leftover meat. And then fruit or a sweet potato or plantains.

What kind of snacks do you like? Around my house we are partial to peanuts (roasted and salted in the shell).

That Peking duck sounds amazing. Mmmm.

I wish I could cook. I just really don't find it enjoyable at all so I try to avoid ever doing it. Sometimes I'll make spaghetti or scrambled eggs but that's about it other than microwaving frozen Trader Joe's meals. Good think Mike likes to cook or I'd probably have scurvy by now lol.

It really is yummy. When I was a kid, I would get sooo excited whenever she would make it.

Hehe, well fortunately one of you enjoys cooking :) I think for me it took a long time before I started actually liking the cooking process.

I definitely get lazy about cooking since he enjoys doing it. I have never liked it but when I was living in an apartment in college I did cook probably 2-3 times/week (granted it was mostly stuff like waffles or stir-fry but still!). Having someone around who cooks for me makes me want to cook way less lol.
