New(ish) fic: "Winter Child" (thor/loki) + thoughts on writing

Nov 17, 2015 22:13

When was the last time I posted here? This year has been so busy it’s been a blur. I actually managed to do some writing done, in between bouts of RL, and thought I’d talk a bit about my latest stories, one post at a time.
cut for length... )

thor/loki, marvel, writing, writing tropes, marvel cinematic universe

Misliking the hard set to Loki’s mouth I touch his arm to distract him.

What an impact. . . made me want to step back out of Loki's range. . .

Thor paid a bit too much attention to this potential bride for Loki's taste. Though Loki knows she is only one of several candidates under consideration, and Odin would be making the final choice anyway.
I've been reading a lot of books about the War of the Roses, and all the politics around arranged marriages for royalty and nobility, and decided to incorporate these concepts into this story. The marriages of her sons would definitely be something Frigga would be very involved with.

Thanks! I have some other Loki ideas I'm working on, though I won't be doing any real work on them until after the holidays. Do you have any new Loki recs?

Sadly, I don't have any new recs. The last Loki story I read was hotchoco195 - Frost's Son, Snow's Daughter

I read that one. I enjoyed it but was a bit disappointed with the ending.
Several WIPs I've been following have been completed, or nearly so. I won't have any "quality reading time" until after the holidays, but I'm looking forward to having the chance to read several long stories. If I find anything good I'll definitely rec it.
And thanks again for all your recs - I've found a lot of great stories I would never have run across otherwise.
