Poor Zuko... I thought he handled it pretty well, though. I actually really liked his and Katara's interaction in this episode.

Me too. :) That's why I wrote this drabble--showing what I percieve to be his thoughts during this episode, how he came to realize what was truly wrong with Katara--what she truly wanted and why she was so cruel to him.

aaww.. zuko. in canon!verse, we see aang preaching 'the importance of forgiveness' to katara, and your drabble makes a great parallel.

Awww, thanks. :) I didn't think of the idea of a parallel--but that's very true! I just thought that forgiveness goes both ways--many ways, in fact--and I'm sure Zuko and Katara were struggling with that idea during the episode.

After his "mini-vacation" with Katara, I think Zuko gained a lot of self-actualization and so forth. He really learned a lot and realized even more than he did in DOBS. I just had to portray that here and in The Southern Raiders drabble.
