Since you're pressed for time, ask friends and family to help you by telling everyone they know about what you're doing. Ask each person for a pledge that they'll tell at least 3 other people about your project.
By the way, I write about long distance bike tours on a regular basis and am open to doing a story about your trip too; however, it must be compelling for my readers (recreational cyclists, commuters & folks into health, fitness, outdoors & adventure travel).

I am totally open to you doing a story on the bike trip. It's a fundraiser for a couple of non-profits, and we're educating folks on world health issues along the way.
