January 23rd, 2007... So Far Away!!

Get back naysayers. Your negativity can't penetrate this shield. Being in love with this show doesn't mean you're completely oblivious to its flaws and mistakes. I am perfectly aware of this show's shortcomings. But you know what, the greatness outweighs it all. Let's roll, my babies. Momma's got a whole lotta loving.

Not dial-up friendly. So you've been warned... )

No naysaying from me here. I watched it again the other night and managed to let go of the things that had been bugging me about the season overall, and liked it even more the second time. So. Much. Good. Stuff. So I will concur with you on the following:

Veronica's reaction to Logan breaking up with her. I just loved how she so subtly lost it, stared off into space and trembled just the tiniest little bit, until she could finally be alone. That's exactly what she would do, and I've been there too.

Parker. Well put. It would've been nice to see her there too in the Veronica explains everything scene at the end.

Dean O'Dell. Such a sad story for everyone involved. I felt so bad for him. And that's a good point about Weevil, he will miss the dean too. I was busy wondering if he was going to be framed for the murder or something.

Hot stares at parties... Logan/baseball bat/prison.... I want more!

Thanks for all the pics.

You're very welcome.

It really does get better over rewatches, doesn't it? I read you review and rants. Personally, I don't agree with your take on Veronica being inconsistently written. Her behaviour seems very natural for someone who's led her life, though at times a little too unrule and unnecessarily harsh towards certain people. When I support Veronica, it's not because I love her and want to be her. It's got more to do with seeing a part of me in her. She's like a little sister that I need to stick up for.

Since there are always loads of Logan lovers, I tend to observe him from an objective yet rather chilly distant perspective. But I was all over Logan this episode and I'm never usually like that. He has my love and affection again.

It's cool that you don't succumb to other people's impressions on the shows. You may not have liked it on the first try, but the rewatching surely reinstates the VM loving that's been amiss for quite some time, no?

I mostly agree with you, and it's not the "bitchiness" that people keep complaining about that I have a problem with... that I completely understand, and it does seem in character. It's just some of those antic little comedy routines she's been doing now and then. They feel off and over the top to me, and they make Veronica look like the class clown, which I just don't see. I'm glad that not everyone is getting that impression.

I did like it on the first try, actually... it made a strong impression that stuck with me for a while, in spite of whatever issues I had. Most of my complaints were about things in previous episodes or the season as a whole, not this one in particular. And the love is still there and always has been, which is really why ( ... )

There have too many standup Veronica moments, but it didn't bug me as much. Bitterness often turns into sarcasm. And in V's case, her sarcasm fuels her snarky side that likes to poke fun at everything.

Hee. I meant to say you didn't like it as much on your first try. Or more things grated your nerves after the first viewing. It's funny how the more you watch this ep, the bigger the love for it grows. No need to apologize for your feelings about the show. I trust your instincts.

Since you're more emotionally invested in this show, you're hypercritical about everything, right? So it's really not whining about what you don't like and tearing things apart. But more concrit thoughts, no?

Who's naysaying?! This episode still rocks after the 4th time watching it!

EXCELLENT picspam. Wowie. And you spotted JP! You're always so good at catching the stealth JP. Well done.

And finally, you stood your ground and faced the rapist head on but rushed to aid Veronica more than anything. There was real concern and sincerity in her actions. And that I love above anything else. You rocked, girl. Keep on rocking.

I realized I haven't really said much about Parker but I don't know why because I loved her too. I was SO happy she was the one to save Veronica. It was perfect and wonderful and moving. I wish she'd been in V's aptartment at the end instead of Piz really, but I'm very hopeful after this episode, they'll have a new closeness because of what they both went through together. So well done!!

Who's naysaying?!

Some media outlets and TV critics, because I actually wanted to read what the negative nellies had to say. I don't agree with their assessment and find their reviews so vapidly shallow. You should listen to the TV Guide podcast. They're a bunch of idiots. And they actually get paid to write about the shows they love? Fake fans, I tell you. They totally don't get S3 at all.

I wish Parker'd been at the apartment too.

I'm very hopeful after this episode, they'll have a new closeness because of what they both went through together.

I look forward to that too. Hope they don't make her a glorified extra. Because she's been more useful than Piz. Plus, Piz fed Veronica wrong information about Mercer.

Surprisingly I didn't touch on Keith at all. There's a lot of stuff that bugs me about his characterization this season. We should seriously talk about him soon.

I'm doing a S3 marathon this weekend with my cousin! Yay rewatching!

What did they say? I don't think I have the patience to sit through it to find out, but you have me curious.

It's the first 10 mins of the podcast, so I actually tuned in, which I usually don't anymore because they grate on my nerves. Usually, I casually tune into Maitland's film reviews and skip over the rest.

Basically, Dan's huffing about the big mystery not being featured enough and getting MoTWs like the stolen playbook. Seems like they just took VM at face value and didn't delve into it with the usual analysis required. Dan and Angel seemed to be easily influenced by the fans who write in with their superficial nitpicks.

They're also being very resistant towards the self-contained mystery format. There's really no substance in their talk or thoughts. They just come off too impressionable and shallow to be getting paid for doing what they do. And surprisingly, it's Ausiello who's the sensible one.

Hee! This made me giggle.

Anyway, great picspam! I agree with you on nearly all of it!

Force of habit. I've been playing with kids a who talk about laser beams and invisible shields and such.

I agree with you on nearly all of it!

It's the Hansen funk that you don't agree with, no? Hehe.
