Sometimes it pays to have a subscription to Time Magazine. Even if it's Time Asia. You find little gems in some unexpected corners. Damn, how I miss my National Geographic subscription though.

Anyways, a special feature on the Time Asia mag caught my attention for a number of reasons. First, it was about desserts. Second, it totally pimped Manila Read more... )

Liam is worldly and cultured. What a dreamboat. I didn't think people would enjoy my random VM captions, so I haven't posted in that comm since the last time I did.

I had brunch there once. I was unimpressed although given how unpleasant my companions were (former in-laws) I may not have been the most objective diner.

God I hate halo-halo! I'd rather eat dinuguan. I'd rather eat balut. At least that halo-halo doesn't appear to have canned corn in it. Ugh!

You've been to Manila? I'd really want to hear more about your experience. But I guess we're touching on a subject you don't really want to revisit, eh. With the unpleasant memories with the former in-laws and all.

I have a lot of good memories in that hotel. My favorite one is my grandpa taking us kids there for ice cream sundaes and desserts every Sunday. It's really about the chocolate for me though.

Oh God, you'd rather dinuguan or balut. I wouldn't eat any of them. Eww. Well, Liam liked the halo-halo. So what can I do.

I was there on Wednesday for a lunch meeting. We had an Asian (Thai/Malay)buffet. Of course, I went to buy the truffles afterwards. Yummm.
