I've been using a watermelon scented shower gel and man ...it really makes me crave watermelons. Then I hear that today is National Watermelon Day. *LOL* I think I'll get one for the weekend. Anyway, I have a question about your watermelon eating habits so I made a poll.

Lol, I didn't know there was a National Watermelon Day. I've never done anything weird with em, but they are one of my favorite stoned foods (without salt). ;)

*LOL*
I didn't either, but I heard it on the radio this morning and I looked it up on the internet when I got to work. Yep, I found several references that National Watermelon Day is August 3rd. Jeez, there is a Nat'l day for everything except me. I think I'll start one.

Sounds like a plan. :) Will it be National Cataura Day, or National Lisa Day. ;)

Oh, to add to what I posted for weird watermelon behavior, I couldn't fit the whole answer in there. I was going to put that I don't do anything weird with them but someone once told me they saw people roasting the rinds. *snerk*

That sounds terrible, but when I think of the rinds it brings to mind a picture of what they looked like when Baby Glow got finished with them. All she left was the very thin green skin. I have heard of pickled watermelon rinds, but I haven't tried them.

That reminds me of what my turkeys (had turkeys years and years ago) used to do to an eggplant. They'd eat out the inside and leave a perfect purple skin behind...still in the shape of the eggplant. Sort of an eggplant skin pouch, lol. I've never eaten pickled watermelon rind either.
