There are some things I don't get that the majority probably understands. Like drinking soda, especially on a regular basis. I don't see the point in spending money on something that's not beneficial health-wise (really the opposite), and I think it's especially impractical to be doing regularly. I'm sure you're getting plenty tons of sugar in

soda sucks, but i'll defend people's right to drink it, or something. i can't believe people are getting bent out of shape over cans of mountain dew, ahahah.
milk and juice taste better and make me feel better, and when i want to indulge in something tasty with bite, i go to delicious cocktails. soda water's good, and thomas kemper's is okay, but soda had its glory days in uhhh middle school. i stopped drinking it freshman year after my track coach carried in a bag of 33 grams of sugar and lectured us about carbonation and dehydration.

I do like the occasional Sprite/7up, but mostly because they settle my stomach when I don't feel well.

While I am not going to jump on the ALL DIET SODA IS BAD AND YOU WILL DIE IF YOU DRINK IT OMG CHEMICALS bandwagon, diet soda can be more dangerous than normal soda because most people don't get tested for allergies to things like aspartame and sucralose.
I'm pretty solidly allergic to aspartame, and guess how I found this out? I tried diet soda once and was sick for a week. Then I tried it again a couple of months later because didn't suspect anything from that, and it happened again. THEN I got tested, and what do you know. It'd be nice if it was more publicized that fake sugars are huge allergins so that people could make sure that they are okay for them to drink.

The thing about constant soda drinking is that no one ever talks about how bad it is for you. You hear how bad smoking is all the time. You can't avoid it really. You hear a fair amount about alcohol too, though they never seem to bring up how many calories are in it.
I didn't drink much of it growing up. We were more of a juice family, which has tons of sugar too, so I don't drink much of it anymore. Now I am a sparkling water person, and iced tea sometimes, though I can't really have the caffine.
But people really shouldn't drink their calories. A lot of people would start to lose weight if they just switched from soda to water.
