Part 10
“Youngbae, I love you,” said Jiyong whisperingly, “so stop treating me like you love me too.”
Youngbae was at the studio but he did not working. In his head Jiyong’s words kept repeating. He had been avoiding his best friend and spent more time with Hana but he still couldn’t get those words out of his head.
“YB!”
Youngbae was startled. Someone shouted his name.
“Hyung!” Youngbae cried, “Do you want me to have a heart attack?”
“Sorry, bro,” replied Teddy, “but I’ve been calling you for like five minutes already. What’s wrong?”
Youngbae was about to say nothing when Teddy looked straight at his eyes. So he sighed.
“Hyung, do you remember what you told me last time we talked?” asked Youngbae.
“Yeah,” said Teddy and waited for Youngbae to continue.
“I have been spending more time with Hana, my girlfriend,” said Youngbae, “we are supposed to be happy, right?”
Teddy nodded.
“But we aren’t,” said Youngbae ending with another big sigh.
“Is it because your mind keeps wandering to someone else?” asked Teddy.
Youngbae nodded.
“Then why don’t you do something about it?” asked Teddy, “Talk to her. Make a move and see if she is the right one.”
“I can’t,” said Youngbae.
“Why?” asked Teddy.
“I just can’t,” said Youngbae.
“Then stop thinking about her,” said Teddy.
“I can’t,” said Youngbae looking at Teddy helplessly.
“Then what can you do, bro?” asked Teddy.
“I don’t know hyung,” said Youngbae looking like he wanted to cry. Did he love Jiyong the way he loved him?
Surely Jiyong was the most precious person in Youngbae’s life. He could not imagine a day without his dragon. But was it ‘love’? He did not want to ‘love’ him just because he did not want to lose his best friend.
“What are you afraid of?” asked Teddy.
Afraid?
Youngbae looked at Teddy. He could not say a word but in his head came absolutely different questions. Would it be possible for them under the light of fame? Was he strong enough to protect their love?
Their love?
Youngbae blinked and looked at Teddy like he could not believe himself what he had just found out.
“What’s wrong? Is she an idol too?” asked Teddy, “or is she a daughter of a godfather?”
“Yes,” automatically Youngbae replied. But after he saw the way Teddy looking at him, he quickly changed, “No! No!”
“Hh, she is an idol!” said Teddy looking back at Youngbae’s eyes, “but it looks like you’ve got an answer.” Although he still had no idea what was bothering his junior, he was glad he could see the same old light shining in them.
“What about Hana?” asked Youngbae, “She’s nice and she hasn’t done anything wrong.”
“It’s better than you giving her false hope,” said Teddy, “I know it’s easier said than done, but you can’t keep seeing her and thinking of someone else.”
“Thank you so much hyung,” said Youngbae getting up to hug Teddy.
“It’s sad that I haven’t seen her yet,” said Teddy, “by the way, who is the woman in your mind? Do I know her?”
