Representative Darrell Issa paved Arnold’s way to Sacramento by funding the recall petition, and it looks like Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) may pave Arnold’s way to the white house with his proposition to amend Article II of the U.S. Constitution ("no person except a natural born citizen shall be eligible for the Office of President"). Can you imagine President Schwarzenegger in 2008? Seriously think about that one for a second.

I hate Issa with a passion, and I’m not so fond of Hatch either, but you know what? I’d vote to amend Article II. Hatch makes a good point. We’ve had foreign-born Secretaries of State before, and they were capable administrators (Madeleine Albright, Prague; Henry Kissinger, Germany). A foreign-born president isn’t too crazy an idea. It’d be nice if the first one wasn’t an anti-Semitic chauvinist though :(
