2016 Challenge

Two weekends ago I felt so unstoppable that I pushed myself with a 30-mile cycling on Saturday (haven’t cycled in 3 months) and the following day I added 4.3 miles to my usual 3.5 miles jog (total of 7.8 miles) without walking or stopping. In fact, I felt like I can go further but I knew I had to rest my body. On the same day Hiroshi and I bought 3 ( Read more... )

Woah, already a half marathon?! That's crazy, a good crazy! I am still sitting on the fact that you did 7.8 miles without walking. O_O I'd die. In fact, I almost had to see a medic after the Bacon Run (bacon eating during a run is definitely NOT good for me, haha).

I like the stretches on the video. I think I'm going to do them. There's that, and a video another friend suggested about foot and toe stretches and rolls, which hurt me since I can't really move my toes, but I'm trying.

I don't have runner's knee but it will be a good preventative measure and hopefully help with hip flexibility, which I am really lacking. I think my stride will improve if I felt less tightness. Unfortunately, that cross step strech is out of my range of motion, haha, I am about a foot a half from being able to touch the ground. Although, I still feel a stretch so I guess that's good. XD;

Yep, I hope it's not one of those "It seemed like a good idea six months ago" XD The 7.8 miles was great although I did slow down a couple of times. I think I did it in an hour and 15 minutes which I think is a good start. They actually have a 5-month half marathon training PDF file you can download. This time I'll definitely follow the guidelines so I won't get any other injuries ( ... )

Lol! No worries I saw it on my mail. I'm not sure why it didn't post even if you were anonymous. Oh wow, I didn't think my time would be 9:37 per mile. Chances are it probably varied like some miles were 10+ while others were -10? Not sure but I notice I pace myself better with longer distance than short ones. I noticed that in high school were my mile runs were 8-10 minutes while my half mile were 6-8 XD I'll probably sing a different tune on a marathon ( ... )
