George was one of my favorite comedians, not only for his funny, observational humor, but especially because of his unapologetic anti-religious beliefs, which I share.

My favorite George Carlin quote:

Religion is sort of like a lift in your shoes. If it makes you feel better, fine. Just don't ask me to wear your shoes.

I hadn't read some of these quotes -- what an amazing thinker and wordsmith George Carlin was. He is sorely missed.
