One Week

Today, I am am one week without cigarettes. I'd been in the "process of quitting" for about a year and a half. My last pack I had decided was my last pack (of course, there were dozens of those, I'm sure) and then Friday my throat was hurting so bad I had no desire to smoke, and Saturday was about the same, I so figured I'd go ahead and run with it ( Read more... )

I agree about the smoking pot thing. I've only smoked it about a handful of times but it never really worked for me, which I know it worked for you but in a number of ways..
Bryce (my boyfriend) took Chantix for a while which really worked for him, but if pot made you depressed Chantix might as well (it's listed on there, but he didn't get depressed--just really fucked up dreams). I've heard chewing gum works for some people. Some people gain weight. Some people start exercising. Just try to figure out a way to substitute smoking in a way that's both beneficial to you and helps distract you from the cravings. Anyway, keep it up!

I'm not really having any major problems with the quitting thing so I don't think I need to take anything. I have been chewing a ridiculous amount of gum, especially for things like driving! I don't think I'm going to gain weight (which is good since I'm trying to lose weight). Luckily I was a light smoker (I'd already cut back to 2-3 a day) so it's not as hard for me as it would be for most people.

And pot mostly made me depressed because I was smoking it several times a day :)
