Title: Brenda & Flynn 50 observations
Rating: g to pg
What it's about: taking the idea of
sentence and applying it to Brenda & Flynn. Mentions of Fritz, and a bit au, because it supposes Brenda & Flynn are together and Brenda & Fritz are divorced/divorcing.
Comfort: Her hands are warm and soft, and he likes it when she runs her fingers through his hair and cups his face in her hand.
.) Kiss: It's stupid, he thinks, but he could swear that kiss was just that much sweeter because he stole it in the middle of the hustle and bustle of work, with everyone in the outer office, oblivious.
.) Soft: Soft curves, soft curls and a soft smile that deceptively hide a sharp and sometimes vicious temper.
.) Pain: Pain fills his heart, he's afraid he's lost her, as he watches her with her ex, wanting to hear what they were saying within her office.
.) Potatoes: They share an order of french fries, sitting close to each other in a booth at an out of the way diner, hiding away from the world.
.) Rain: He artfully dodges a smack on the arm as she grumbles at him for laughing at her when she voices her displeasure at getting her new high heels wet.
.) Chocolate: He tastes the chocolate that she's ate at sometime, as he steals a kiss from her, hidden in the shadows of the car.
.) Happiness: Something twists in the pit of her stomach as his eyes meet hers, she's gotten a call from her ex, and he feels like his happiness is about to fly away.
.) Telephone:She's constantly on the phone, and he works on seducing her til she finally throws it on the couch, forgotten for the time being.
.) Ears: He moans as she bites down on his earlobe and wedges herself further into his lap.
.) Name: He never knew the same four little letters could be said in so many ways to express so many things until he got involved with her-- now they'll never sound the same ever again.
.) Sensual: The little sounds she makes when she's devouring an especially rich piece of chocolate is sensual to him, making him want to have his way with her then and there.
.) Death: She cries for the death of her marriage, but when he holds her, she feels like it's a brand new beginning, and she starts to heal.
14. ) Sex: He always wondered what it would be like to have those legs wrapped around him, making love to her, and can't believe he's finally found out, and it is absolutely amazing.
.) Touch: She shivers when the tips of his fingers touch her arm, wanting to do nothing more than pull him into the nearest closet and having her way with him.
.) Weakness: He notices one day that it's become habit for him to automatically grab everything off the high shelves for her, no matter where they are, without her having to break down and ask anymore.
.) Tears:After their first fight, she cries, fearing they won't be able to get past it, and then cries even more when he grabs her hand and kisses it, asking for forgiveness.
.) Speed: Their relationship races forward, gaining momentum at every step, the speed scaring both of them to death.
.) Wind: He's loving the wind, watching it play with the hem of her skirt, making it float up every now and then, despite her attempts at modesty.
.) Freedom: Out of the office, the only freedom they have to admit to themselves that they are together, that they belong with each other.
.) Life:She's given him a new lease on life, a feeling coursing through him that he hasn't felt since he first joined the force.
.) Jealousy: The first time he saw her with Fritz, he felt his blood boil-- even though he knew that she wasn't his to get jealous over.
.) Hands: Her hand is small and cold in his when she slips it into his pocket and twines her arm with his as they walk home from dinner.
.) Taste: He tastes a hint of chocolate on her lips, as he kisses her, enjoying the sweetness that comes from both.
.) Devotion: He watches her with Pope, they share a devotion in spite of their past, and he wonders if he'll always be that close to her.
.) Forever: Forever is the stuff of fairytales, and they both have been through enough to know that life is far from it-- but they'll take what they can get.
.) Blood: He dreams of a bloody body, waking up in a cold sweat, after hearing the screams on the tape, and she holds him, comforting him til they both drift back to sleep.
.) Sickness: She gently pokes fun at him for being a baby when he curls up in the corner of the couch sniffling miserably, but when he wakes up from an unexpected nap there's orange juice and cold medicine waiting on the coffee table.
.) Melody: He hums a tune through the halls one day, the melody catching her ear, and she smiles, it's the song they first danced to.
.) Star: They sit on the beach, staring out at the stars, unbelieving that either of them had turned out to be the “one” for each other.
.) Home: He doesn't remember exactly when home turned into her place; where his clothes and movies are strewn about her place amongst all her stuff-- but even with all the chaos, it seems to all fit together right.
.) Confusion: He wakes up disoriented, shivering until he registers her warmth behind him, curling around as much as her small frame allows and murmuring in his ear.
.) Fear: Even though they've said I love you to each other, he still fears that it's a dream, that this is all going to disappear and be gone.
.) Lightning/Thunder: Her temper reminds him of a sudden thunderstorm-- looming quietly as it brews, the world around it marching blissfully along ignoring everything around it until it bursts out unexpectedly in a streak of pure destructive power.
.) Bonds: The Stroh case bonded them, made them realize that they were the only ones who truly understood each other.
.) Market: He thinks how he likes being off the market, that he finally has someone he really does want to spend the rest of his life with.
.) Technology: He damns technology as they both wake up to the ringing of their cellphones, calling them into work once again.
.) Gift: He smiles as he leaves a Hershey bar on top of her desk, a small gesture to make up for the fight they had earlier.
.) Smile: He watches her smile at Fritz and he's struck hard by the mix of irrational jealousy and aching dread that she might not ever smile at him like that again.
.) Innocence: She glares at him, he looks at her in innocence, as she begins to yell at Provenza and him once again, after another screw up.
.) Completion: They celebrate the completion of her divorce by going to her home and making love far into the evening, feeling freer than they have since they became involved.
.) Clouds: Clouds fill her eyes when she realizes her latest lead on Stroh has gone nowhere, leaving her disappointed and him feeling like she's heading down a dangerous path.
.) Sky: The blue sky and bright sun make her hair look like a halo around her head, giving off a soft glow that makes her look even more beautiful to him.
.) Heaven: Hidden away in her apartment, he thinks that this might be his idea of heaven, the woman he loves tucked in beside him, arms wrapped around each other, after making love for most of the night.
.) Hell: She stands there so small and alone, everything sagging under the weight of her grief, and he feels absolutely powerless to do anything about it.
.) Sun: "Hey! Come on..." he declares, trying to sound put-upon as she reaches up and takes his sunglasses off his face and puts them on, throwing him a smile over her shoulder as she leaves.
.) Moon: The moonlight casts a stark shadow into the hollow of her throat that he tries to nibble away as he pushes her against the sharp brick.
.) Waves: He watches her walking along the surf, waves crashing in along her feet, before he catches her eye, and she grants him a stunning smile.
.) Hair: Her hair matches her current frustration level, dishevelled and awry, and if he laughs, he knows she'll kill him, so he bites his lip to keep from laughing.
.) Supernova: When they first got together, it was like a supernova, burning quick and hot, before fading into a pleasant afterglow, with them just holding one another.
