I just overheard someone say that when his wife dies, he's going to marry his daughter for her money.
*deer in the headlights stare*Now, I've heard some strange things in my day... but that pretty much takes the cake. Which leads one to wonder what "takes the cake" actually means, because when you think about it, that makes no sense whatsoever.

And, you know, once they've take the cake, they can eat it, too, which breaks that other old adage... unless the cake they've taken is someone else's, in which case they can have someone else's cake and eat it, too, which is really not the same thing at all.
I guess, in either case, I would only be able to say, "let them eat cake," you know- if that's their thing and all.
