Snow White and the Huntsman
Wow, Kristen Stewart has more than one look! And she can actually play a strong female character. Who would have thought?
Kristen Stewart was the reason I almost didn't watch this movie. But seeing the trailer a couple of times and Chris Hemsworth changed my opinion. Thankfully :)
I liked the changes the movie made to the actual fairytale. It's just like Once upon a time in that regard. And I for once believe that fairytales should change with time and not remain static. After all we're not still reading the same version that the Brothers Grimm wrote down 200 years ago, either.
Charlize Theron was awesome as the evil Queen and I loved what they did with mirror.
I hope we will still get a sequel after Kristen Stewart and the director had an affair. Possibly with both of them.
Ice Age: Continental Drift
Still not as good as the first one but still surprisingly strong for a fourth part in a franchise. Scrat must still be the best character in an animated movie ever :D
You can easily ignore the side plots and just enjoy the interaction between Manny, Sid and Diego which makes it feel almost like the first one.
Oh, what still annoys me is the 3D. I really want to strangle James Cameron for making it cool again. While it worked pretty well for Avatar, it's just mis-used in most other movies, especially when it's added after the actual filming.
The Dark Knight Rises
My expectations might have been too high but I was somewhat dissapointed by the movie. This wasn't helped by the fact that Bane is a much more boring villain than the Joker. Plus Heath Ledger will forever be the best portrayal of a movie villain, ever.
There were a lot of parts I still loved: the fact that Alfred actually left, the young cop being called Robin and possibly taking up the mantle of the Bat, Catwoman (Anne Hathaway did some really great acting there), the end where Alfred sees Bruce and Selina at the Italian café and a lot more.
I did miss the fact that there wasn't even a little mention of the Joker, though I understand that Christopher Nolan wasn't ready to add anything about him.
But all in all, the Dark Knight trilogy is the best thing ever done to Batman and the greatest superhero movies, yet.
