For someone who doesn't watch a lot of television, I have had a surprising number of shows to which I have become addicted, years after they began.  In the late 80's it was reruns of Remington Steele.  Then I fell for The X-Files in 1997 while off my feet for 2 weeks following bunion surgery, and the FX channel just happened to start daily ( Read more... )

We get no cable or broadcast TV. Zip, zilch, nada. And we *still* have our little addictions. We're currently very into Monk, very slowly catching up on Due South, I catch up on another season of X-Files every time I visit my mom (who is *rabid* - she gave up X-Files for Lent, and it's an "If I can" sort of thing rather than an "I'm doing this"!), and before we got distracted with Monk we were halfway through the first season of Smallville. The kids are addicted to classic Looney Tunes and to Dexter's Lab.

Hubby downloads stuff off the Internet, y'see. I'm steering very carefully clear of Buffy, because I have a feeling it'd get me if I got near it (Remington Steele got me in primetime - but I way preferred the first season to the succeeding ones because I liked Murphy lots). If you have a computer and a good Internet connection, there is no escape! :D

And then there's the library - eldest son is obsessed with "Frontier House," and has checked it out I dunno how many times...
