I wish I could actually write something new everyday but it seems like perhaps my daily experiences aren't as interesting as to be worth remembering. On the other hand, my memory seems to have developed some sort of leak and I have trouble short-term wise nowadays

As for the fixit stuff - just call. I call my parents to ask how to do things. I think they like knowing that their daughter is trying to take care of herself and not freak out every time she has to use a plunger. That, or I usually Google how to do stuff. Everything's on the internet.
