It's kind of blah outside and combined with my unexplainable stomachache, I feel thoroughly unproductive. I slept till about 1:30pm and had strange dreams about being in a rather nice house/hotel with either robots (who could swim) or zombies trying to get me and the group of people I was with. Or maybe they just wanted to get inside the nice place ( Read more... )

:(

You know, I've noticed the same thing about foreign films. I seem to be more calm when I'm finished with them. Strange thing.

"The City of Lost Children" is a nice, weird, French film. It's got Ron Perlman (Hellboy) in it as a gigantic manchild. It's got sort of a Peter Pan/Alice in Wonderland quality to it.
My favorite foreign film (other than Amelie) is an animated movie called "Persepolis". It's about an Iranian girl growing up during the revolution, and I can't praise it enough. I can watch the credits all the way through and then just press play again. The English dubbing is superb as well.

I read her entry and I was about to suggest City of Lost Children too! The mother/daughter bond is strong, Puffin #1

And on an unrelated note, Anna, when I started reading your entry I started to hear your voice in my head actually narrating. That's never happened before.

Thanks to both of you for the suggestion of "The City of Lost Children" - I will definitely check it out. Also, Ashleigh, I'll also be sure to grab "Persepolis".

Pedro, recently I've been trying to write more conversationally. I don't really work too much at it but there's something about the style that appeals to me a great deal. Let me know if there's anything you suggest cause I'd like to maybe write more, maybe not necessarily as a hobby eventually. =)
