Sooo. No sooner had I commented on the last post but a question popped into my head. Last year my mother-in-law's cat passed away. He was cremated and put in a little jar, which my MIL wanted to keep on the mantle. To me, the fear of death is a little unreasonable. And having an urn on display is tacky. Keeping it nearby is a great compromise. YMMV
Stuffing creeps me out, though. But again, that is just me. If my SO wanted a former pet stuffed, I would have to take her emotional needs into consideration over the potential nightmares.

She also was the primary caregiver and paid the bills, although they were about equally upset, and about equally horrified at the other person's plans.
