If your neighbor's dog dug under your fence and into your yard, what would you do? Would your answer change if it happened multiple times? What if the neighbor had taken steps to block dog from digging under the fence, but pup was determined and got around the anti-digging measures?

Seriously, I'd ask the neighbour if they wanted me to assist in keeping the dog in their garden and if so I'd make their place more pleasant for it to be than my place. Otherwise I wouldn't be too worried.

Probably the same thing I told my neighbor when their dogs kept breaking the fence and getting in my yard. "I keep an eye on my dogs but the corgi is not friendly to strange dogs and there will likely be a fight even if I'm out here if they show up uninvited again." Half serious (he would probably try to run but their two small dogs like to antagonize), half not really serious. I wanted to scare them to actually keep an eye on their damn dogs and it worked.

I don't know. I called the cops when a dog I didn't know got into my yard last week. If I knew where the dogs were coming from and it kept happening... not sure. If their dog is that determined to escape the yard, it shouldn't be left outside so much.

Well, we don't have a fence and this has happened (it's a rather rural area so dogs do wander around) and it wasn't a big deal. Rusty and his friend tend to say hi once in a while, we just don't go outside or encourage them (Rusty looks to have fleas).

Now if we had a fence and there was digging involved I'd get genuinely annoyed because fixing the holes would be a pain and then my step-dog could get out. If the neighbor was showing efforts to stop their dog from doing so I'd still be annoyed, but not at the person or even the dog, just the situation. I'd probably try something like putting mesh around the fence to discourage digging.
