So, on Saturday we had a nice day in Canada. We went to an SCA event in the Shire of Lyndhaven, which is New Brunswick, Canada. We enjoyed some archery, axe throwing, getting videos of armored fighters on the field, some strange new foods, and of course, the opportunity to play in medieval clothing. >^_^Crossing over to Canada went just fine.

I suppose they couldn't make it illegal for you to post a picture of that building on your website...
So how can they make you delete it in the first place?
That seems wrong...
But, conviniently, they've made it so no one can have evidence that they do that.
I wonder how one could restore the data.
Or perhaps through slight of hand and a spare memory card hide the pictures.
If it was an old camera, would they have confiscated your film, I wonder?
Taking a physical object tends to make a more evil impression than taking data in our society.
(Even when the data is more valuable than the physicial object.)

I mean, perhaps they can justify the rule of no photos indoors, maybe, but I see no use in trying to take away photos of the outside of the building that everyone can see anyway.
When I went back through my photos, I found a second shot of the outside of the building that they missed. It was on the other side of some street sign shots, so neither of us had any idea it was there.
It can now be viewed at http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/catgirl_pink1/SCAevents/2007-05-19_NSRwarcamp/100_1495e.jpg
I would have preferred the photo that they made me delete though. It was aimed more at odd/unusual signs and less at cars, so no one's license plate was in it. Oh well I guess.
I am very glad for digital cameras. I would not want to be relying on film when faced with such ridiculous exercises of authority. I would have been so, so, so sad if they had taken away something with all my pretty pictures from the SCA event on it.
