Wow, I had no idea! Well, I had some idea, but not the whole picture. I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

Well, it all sounds very exciting. I hope it works out for you.

No plans for Gainesville any time soon, sorry.

congrats! the war of obsequiousness is like the war on terror- there's always one more scholar you have to ingratiate yourself with. sounds like things are moving along well, and i suspect that this trip will yield very good things. i bet your acceptance letter gets back to gainesville before you do. keep up the good work.

your anaology gave me quite a chuckle. i have indeed been waging a multi-front, interdisciplinary campaign to win the hearts and minds of the faculty. i'm not ready to say "Mission Accomplished" yet, but i'm feeling very positive.

so far my only complaint is that i haven't had the chance to meet and hang out with soe grad students, to reassure myself that there are col people in the dept. i guess that there will be cool people in some dept. or another, and eventually i'll meet them.

we'll hang this weekend and i'll regale you with tales of how i charmed my way into grad school, that you may benefit from my experiences a year or so hence.
