I had thought that this were a lightsaber [pause] but it seems that that is only partially correct.

Now I must replace this table.

...I must wonder if it can be dissembled and, with the components I already have, built into a proper blade.  I am reluctant to start, however.  Is this the way I should do it?  And its color...

Why, my good whomever, would you point a weapon at something you wanted to keep? Especially one that you do not know for sure?

It is not a projectile. I had assumed from the hilt that its activated form was smaller and fixed in position, but it would appear that there is more than one weapon with such a hilt.

What is the blade like? It sounds as though it is malfunctioning.

It is very long and flexible. When cracked it makes the most alarming sound.
