Oh, Melrose Place. I was fully expecting to laugh my ass off at how stupid it was (which ... I pretty much did with the 90210 pilot, I won't lie.) and absolutely hate it. I was really only watching it because I was excited to see Katie Cassidy, because in case you did not get the memo? She is love personified. I kind of barely watched the original Melrose, catching up when I was babysitting and the kids were down for a nap, and randomly in the dub room at ABC. But I actually ... shockingly ... really liked it. Like, I really wanted more. Staying away from spoilers as much as possible, the pilot has a murder in it, which really gets things going. There is a lot of intrigue, a LOT of drama (duh), and one thing I really liked is that they individually give each characters something interesting and hard to deal with. And also, in a way that doesn't make it seem like you are getting incredibly overwhelmed with so much going on ( ... )

Oh you guys. PRAY for this one to go to series! It is. SO GOOD. What the hell, CW? They are actually having incredible pilots. Minka Kelly, why so cute? I actually loved this one a lot. A lot a lot. It was just perfect. I don't think I would have liked one thing to be different about it. Which really? Says a lot. Jason Dohring is amazing as the perfect and snarky little reporter. I want to live in a house in DC with a bunch of awesome like-minded people! I mean really. Really. I am already torn ship-wise, let me tell you. I DO NOT LIKE THAT. But whatever, it's adorable. And oh hello Jay Hernandez in dress uniform. I love it, and Minka can carry her own show incredibly well. Her character's story doesn't really make THAT much sense until toward the end of the pilot, where it clicks and makes her an even better character. And omg I love that her name is FRANKIE! I love boy names for girls, idk.

Joel McHale. Do you really need another reason to watch this show? A comedy for NBC, they really just seem to know how to do comedy right, don't they? I really enjoyed this. It was funny and witty and really, all they needed to say was Joel McHale to get me to tune in. And I love single cam with no laugh track. SO MUCH. Thank you for that one, NBC.

Eric Christian Olsen is hilarious, and his comedic timing is perfect. Alyssa is such a cutie, but I feel like when she does comedy, she really pushes and over acts. It's kind of annoying. Also? Alyssa Milano. I love you, but oh I am so sorry ... I do not buy you as a 20/30-something who is still struggling to find dates with boys. There are some really funny moments, I laughed a good amount, but really - it's nothing special. It's not something that I'd come back to week after week after week, but then I guess when I compare sitcoms to How I Met Your Mother and The Office? It's hard to please me. Gay chicken however, was hysterical. "I win." "Buddy. There are no winners in gay chicken."

This show ... I kind of have a beef with. First of all, the pilot was extremely long, and it didn't even feel like a TV series. It felt kind of a like a SciFi movie of the week. I was really really happy to see Amy Acker around (though I have no clue what they will do about Dollhouse) but the show itself was all over the place. It felt like they had no clue what the frak they wanted to do with the tone, so it kept going from this ~eerie~ show to a lighter show? idk, they were all. over. the place. It was really really frustrating, and I didn't really "get" what they were going for as a result. I watched it right after watching Harper's Island, so it was really a shame that I was comparing the whole time, at how shittastic Happy Town is in comparison. It felt like they were trying to throw SO MUCH into the first episode, and there were TONS of characters introduced constantly. It was really frustrating. I think it has potential, but it needs to be cleaned up, A LOT. Shining light? Oh hai thur Dean Winters.
