i work PT at a walmart auto shop
ahhh
theres been a lot of shit goin on lately, and we are all gettin fed up
wrote a 3 page letter of complaint about one guy, had it signed by allthe other techs. the boss said we wrote it because we are jealous that he works harder then us

so.. one of our lifts is fucked. the safety is screwed and it likes to tilt to one side when you remove awheel from one side of the car
this past thursday i put a "danger-do not operate" tag on it (walmarts procedure for unsafe machinery)
i go into work today, and the tag is gone, and the lift is in use. I ask when it got fixed, and the guy is like "its fine. ive been using it all day" and im like "who took the tag off?" and hes like "i did... its fine"
btw this is the guy that we all complained about

so i went to the manager and said "im not using that lift today, its not safe"
and hes like "well then you can go home" and i said "like hell i will!!!"

so then moron in the shop comes out and hes like "the lifts have been insepcted 4 times, and lynn (the auto manager) said its fine"

so the manager guy was like "ok let me have a look at it then" so i bring him out... put the car up, show him how it tilts... also... because of the safety being fucked, the car gets stuck. After letting the air out of the jack, the car is still up. after reefing on the jacks for a while.. the car DROPS about a foot, right in front of the manager. At this point, out loud, i say... CHRIS 1... WALMART ZERO!

so it was tagged out AGAIN, this time signed for by the manager :)..... so then, about half an our later... im using the OTHER lift. it gets stuck too. the right side would go down but not the left... so i reef on the safety latch thats stuck. IT SNAPS OFF

oh yeah, the manager had JUST asked me how things are goin.. and im like *SNAP* "uhh.. not too good"

so hes like "yeah... ok... umm... only use this lift for front tires" (it was the rear jack that got stuck)

so yeah. now i have a FT job, so i told her to drop my hours to the minimum 12 per week to stay on the schedule so i could go back in the fall
she said that was FINE wheni was hired

but she said no now
so i fill out an availability sheet, saying no fridays, and no sundays, and 2 days during the week 5:30-9:30. she hands it back and says "this isnt good enough"

saturday is 6 hr shift, plus 4, plus 4. thats 14 hours. thats more then 12. thats all she gets

what i dont understand... is the letter was addressed to dan fletcher, the district manager. He was MY boss when i worked in the stoney creek walmart a couple summers ago. Hes also a reference on my resume (not anymore, im assuming)
so basically hes just taking her side

yeah. apparently the regional manager is a guy who isnt going to ignore this kinda thing. i just didnt send it to him the first time because i didnt think it would be necissary.
