Kurt’s blue eyes were swimming with tears. “Please, someone help my boyfriend! He’s been shot!” He gazed lovingly at the mass of curls on his boyfriend’s head. Kurt briefly wondered if his opinion of Blaine would have changed depending if he had the long hair that he bore know, but he quickly dismissed the thought because really how could the length of one’s hair have such an impact.

Blaine raised his trembling hand and cupped his boyfriend’s tear-streaked face. Looking at that porcelain face, he smiled weakly and groaned out, “I love you, my darling.” All the more, he wanted to take his love into his arms and assure that he would be okay, but he couldn’t push past the pain, not anymore.

“No… no… you have to help us. Call an ambulance,” Kurt shouted again as Blaine gasped out another shuttering breath, “David, I love you. You can’t leave me. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you often of how much I loved you. I love you. I love you. I love you.” Kurt gasped this out amidst his tears. He repeated the words over and over again and only held on tighter as he heard sirens approach closer and closer.

“And, cut! That was great work, you two! Take a break. I’ll call you back when we need to continue.” The director dismissed the two before him, and Kurt and Blaine just stared at each other. Except for mutual work, they hadn’t spoken in two years due to “irreconcilable differences.” Blaine looked at the cold expression on Kurt’s face and wondered how their relationship had come to the angry mess between them.

But, he knew they had nothing to say to each other. After their initial separation, they had attempted reconciliation, but angrier words just spewed forth. In the end, they were better off without each other, without the anger that tainted their relationship. Blaine knew that they would have to get through this job. He took several deep breaths, reminding himself that they were both professionals.

Blaine started to open his mouth, but a hard look from Kurt quickly shut it again. Kurt simply turned around and walked away. Blaine watched Kurt’s retreating back and thought back on times when Kurt would have run up and embraced him. How had things gone so wrong.
