Sometimes things just work out right.

Things are looking pretty good. I'm in Perth right now. I went over on company business to hand over some things to a customer. And for once, all the midnight oil burning gave returns. Everyone was happy, signatures were signed, and things went generally swimmingly ( Read more... )

Judging from this slasdot thread, I'd recommend placing some selotape or other sticky plactic covering over the screen of your new purchase ASAP if you still want to be able to see it in 6 months time.

Looks a very nifty player but I'm still against buying Apple myself due to the high cost of their products and the non-standard connectors they insist on using. I've not played with a nano myself but I'd be willing to bet it has something other than a standard 3.5mm jack for audio and some obscure USB connector and PSU connector you can only get from Apple.

I reserve the right to be wrong but from previous experience of Apple products, I'd be surprised if I was.

I've left on the protective adhesive film, and its still looking good. I believe best protective results are with 3M Scotchcal film, so I'll be looking into getting some when I get back ( ... )

totally agree. I'm not suprised some people think a reguler head phone won't fit into an i-pod. there are a LOT of mythes about apple products that simply arne't true. A true case of F.U.D in a way. eg. in Mac osX many people I know insist that you cant use a two (or more) button mouse, or that scroll whels don't work. They refuse point blank to belive that I use a off the shelf 5 button scroll wheel track ball on my mac and it required NO set up at all. The right button works in the same was as a windose box, and is even programable on many apps to include other fucntions. It's not a case of you Can't use a right button, it's more a case of you not NEEDING to use one.

Sometimes I wonder where these mythes about apple stuff come from.

I stand corrected.

Loocing at the technical specs it does indeed seem quite a nice machine.

Still a shame about the price though. Cheapest I've seen seems to be £141.23 for a 4GB model. Still seems a little steep for a 4GB MP3 player to me.

One day perhaps - when I have cash to
burn.
