“You know who the main target audience for super hero comics are? Fans of super hero comics.” [Source]

It’s not a new attitude - comics are for boys, no girls allowed, girls don’t like comics so why bother listening to them ( Read more... )

Ugh, Harley's new outfit is a travesty. Almost as bad as Zatanna's new outfit (what the actual hell are those pants.)

Zatanna's... "pants do not work that way" outfit is only for the AU world of Flashpoint, IIRC. This is her new outfit (as featured on Justice League Dark - she's the one in the black with fishnets on her arms).

I will, however, be looking at Justice League Dark despite Zatanna putting her fishnets on her arms because a) magic! b) Zatanna c) several women d) Deadman e) a bisexual character (John Constantine).

Love the video, thank you for sharing.

And yeah, I am right there with you on there being an audience, if only folks would recognize and respond to it. I started reading X-men when I was 12 and a big part of that was Storm, Shadowcat & Rogue...

Yeah, that is why X-Men is so great. Marvel isn't perfect but it does have a number of great female characters of various types.

It's just so frustrating on so many levels. I mean really, how much business sense does it make to outright ignore a huge group that wants to give you money?

Well, if you want to be generous with your rounding, it could be 2%. One woman writer and one woman artist working on the new 52 massive launch. They have since mentioned that there are women working on later projects, but with no real specifics.

What is really annoying is that they wave about the line that they "hire the best"... and then they hire Rob Liefeld.

Really? They couldn't find a woman better than their BFF Liefeld of this "amazing" art?
