It's so strange - talking to co-workers today, some had over 100 kids, others had none or next to none. You wouldn't think there'd be such different turnouts in what is, basically, the same area. Hmmmm... It doesn't seem like the same holiday without oodles & oodles of kids.
I attribute our lack of kids to the road conditions in our area. We had 4" of snow last week and then very warm conditions over the weekend, so our dirt roads were an absolute mess and still are. I just don't think anyone wanted to brave long muddy drive (a couple of kilometers) up to our house for a bit of candy. :P
You will be happy to know the Halloween trick or treating is alive and well here. Granted, some are shameless candy peddling lol (I mean c'mon at leat pretend to be there for Halloween by wearing a costume!) but there's enough of the cute kid costumes and parents to make it worth it.
