i think there's a difference between saying "i hate intolerance" and "i hate intolerant people". you can be intolerant of an idea, hate an idea, but still love a person who has that idea. i would probably say that i am intolerant of intolerance. but i'm still friends with plenty of intolerant people. i do my best to try work for more tolerance, to encourage people in word/example to be tolerant, but i would never stop loving someone just because they were intolerant. i dont think that's hypocritical. if i were to say, "i believe strongly in tolerance, but if you want to be intolerant, good for you" i wouldnt be being true to myself. i can say, "if you want to be intolerant, i'll love you anyways", but not that i'll like the intolerance. that would be like a pro-life person saying to a person having an abortion, "i think that's a good idea". theres a middle ground, accepting the person while still disagreeing with the ideology. i agree that the pro-lifers who use bombs are hypocrites, but i don't think the ones that say 'i hate ( ... )
