I have a question, a very serious question, and since I don't have a Priest yet, and my Priest friend is too far away to ask and he's very busy doing stuff with the Monastery where he lives, I'm asking YOU. I hope that is alright

Amazing response, I'll also add that "night terrors" are a very real thing and brought on by anxiety and/or PTSD.
Lastly, although I do not think this is a possibility, do be absolutely certain that no one is secretly living in your home or has access to it.
Haunting is a common (and understandable) misconception when home invasion is actually the culprit. I agree you should take a break from topics and films of that kind, simply to help keep you calm, particularly withyour current health challenges.
I have anxiety AND PTSD. I take medication for both.
No one has access to my home but myself and Gimli (fiance') as far as tangible, living individuals. Oh, and of course the landlord and their maintenance crew, should anything need to be fixed, but that's pretty rare if we need them here, and when they come over, I'm home, I don't like strangers in my home when I'm not here.
I think you're right, I'm going to take a break from horror movies for awhile. I was going to do a horror marathon for my birthday in a few weeks, but I changed my mind and we're going to do a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit marathon instead. I decided that before all this insanity began

And I think many of us struggle with things we enjoy that can prove toxic or that we need to take a break from (some may enjoy overeating ice cream for example or drinking). It seems like you very much still have your wits about you and that's good too.
I'm glad to hear that you feel your home is secure, I've recently heard of many tales where someone had snuck into someone's home unbeknownst to them and it had a striking similarity to being haunted. I'm not saying people don't experience what is thought to be a ghost, but it seems that a stranger moving things in the middle of the night can appear very similar. It was not something I was familiar with happening to people in their homes until recently.
I would consider it more likely you had an episode of sleep paralysis. I've suffered from this all my life so it's pretty familiar to me, but it can happen to anyone occasionally, and is more prevalent upon falling asleep or waking up. It manifests a little differently for everyone, but many people have described it as feeling like a demon is sitting on their chest.
For me, I spent some time thinking I was being abducted by aliens. I was so relieved to find the actual cause!
I do believe there are aliens, but as far as an abduction....that would be difficult to endure feeling that way! I am glad you have a name for what happened to you all those times, and I am so sorry you're going through it.
I do have a question: Does it feel, to you, when it happens, like your torso, neck, and head are vibrating, your ears are humming, and all the blood is rushing to your head? This is what I feel when I'm experiencing this weird thing. I've experienced it once when I was in my late 20s, and once again when I was...I think 32 or 33, but never again until recently it started happening again. This time, though, I combat the fear with prayer, but it is still very unsettling to endure. It's happened twice yesterday (Friday), and the other day, when I wrote this initial post. I'm usually laying on my side (I can't sleep on my back, I just feel weird when I do), but the first time I remember this happening, when I was in my late 20s, and the 2nd time when I was about 32 or 33, I was on my back.
Yes, that's exactly how it feels. To me, I always associated it with a sonic ray gun, like there were sonic waves crashing into me and holding me in place so I couldn't move. (I realize this sounds really goofy now, but since I was convinced I was being abducted by aliens, it made perfect sense at the time).
