I was reading my xanga subscriptions and this girl posted an entry about what she realized in her walk with God. It really touched me b/c its something that a friend pointed out to me as of late and something I admitted to and that I want to start working on again. Still this was such and awesome testimony I had to post it over here for any of you ( Read more... )

hmmmm. you asked me if being an atheist is depressing, but really, i can ask you the same thing: is being a Christian depressing? what this girl expressed in this entry seems VERY depressing to me, and i know if i were having these thoughts i would consider myself in a deep depression. this line especially struck me:
I felt really really bad for trying to do things on my own and not relying on God as I should.it seems like she is saying that she is not capable of doing anything on her own, that she cannot accomplish anything without the help of God, that she cannot live her day to day life without the help of God, she cannot find happiness within HERSELF, that she must find it externally, in God. to me, this is horrible! these are the kind of thoughts that people with extremely low self-esteem have. that they are not good enough to accomplish things, they are not capable of finding happiness, that happiness does not exist within them. what is wrong with finding happiness YOURSELF, within your own soul? there is something to be said ( ... )

There is a line between humbleness and selfworth. Its hard to find sometimes. What she has is humblesness and a lowly spirit. Its a wonderful acomplishment and something that shows much strength and character.

I won't explain much now b/c I really need to catch up on sleep but I will try to remember to write more later.
