You know how I posted that CU-Boulder is fairly cheap for music? Well well well…I was wrong. I’m out of state and everything and this means that I get to pay about $109,296.00 for an entire four years there, that’s including housing. I sure as heck hope I get a nice scholarship! I got a huge scholarship from DePaul. They are usually like $33,000, right? I got $9,000 academic money from them and $6,000 music money from them for four years which comes to $18,000 a year. No, in all honesty it’s not really enough to send me there but it’s a nice chunk, and it’s pretty good for a non-need based scholarship.

Are they supposed to tell me that quickly? I got accepted to St. Olaf and I received $2,000 in academic money and $6,000 in music scholarship. Added together that’s about $8,000. Not a bad chunk, but I didn’t expect to get the letter today. So now if I went there I’d be paying $20,000 a year. How about a “thanks but no thanks”?

Audition at Oberlin today went well. Had not one but TWO voice lessons today. One with Dr. Mahy, who Ms. C expressed an interest in me having a lesson with or even studying with her. The other lesson was with Dr. Miller, the other teacher she mentioned to me. Both where excellent. So far the list looks like Boulder, Oberlin and DePaul. It’s kind of ( Read more... )

Second to last audition is in how many hours? Bleh...joy. Actually have a voice lesson with a teacher there soon. Not so psyched about the idea of attending school in Ohio, even if it is Oberin. I'm actually in Cleveland, Ohio which is like an hour away from Oberlin. Getting pretty boring. Hope to go to a movie and see “Along Came Polly”. We'll see. I talk to mom via email and she still seems to bug me even when I’m hundreds of miles away. At least I don’t have to see her. She keeps calling my cell phone and sometimes I don’t pick up.
