I still have the scorch scars the last time I stood up for myself against in overwhelmingly left crowd.

You have no idea how much I want to ask them, did you get what you wanted? Did he meet all his promises? But I won't. Even though I want to.

Hugs.

I prepare. Quietly, oh so quietly, I volunteer and raise a little money. I watch those with other beliefs and I beleive they are dangerous if their solicitation for money emails are any indication.

So I am silent. I am that poll effect where people say X but vote Y, and know they are voting Y but say X because they dont want to be insulted or vilified. It's called the shy tory effect, and it exists because of PC. I will smile nod, perhaps say something, but my vote is going to be something else.

I know you've been attacked here in LJ. Glad you've joined my little haven from the madness in FB. :)

I've always believed in "Attack the argument and not the person." I don't want to know unless you can support your argument with facts. It comes from when I was heavily involved in fanfiction. I saw too many personal flames. I've carried it on into my book reviewing. I refuse to attack the author and if I don't like something I say why.

I've seen mudslinging from both sides. I've seen some disgusting remarks by people on Twitter. I've seen death threats, derogatory comments about women, suggestions that people should kill themselves, etc. I stopped following someone with similar political views as me because of what she posted about people who didn't agree with her. Twitter is my main way of communicating with the world and learning about global events these days. I give more credibility to those who use explanation and reason than to those who hurl abuse.
