For a moment there I thought you were the one making such incredible accusations. I myself originally had an odd feeling about Edward's ways. He is possessive, manipulative, secretive,forceful, cold, and demanding. Yet at the same time I wonder if his reasons for acting that way are in any form noble. Part of me is uncertain, while the other side of me says that he does those things for the reasons he says. To protect her, for her own well being.
It's a confusing romance, I will say that much.
Now I am imagining Edward doing a grand reveal of the truth of his evil ways...*gasp* What if in Breaking Dawn he tried to kill her, and Jacob had to fight for her life. Edward would come close to death by the werewolves and The Midnight Sun would be focused about why he came to act as he did towards Bella, his obsession, why he chose her, etc.
I hope I'm wrong, but at this point anything is possible, I'm afraid.
